All the young chefs made magical dishes,\u201d said Ross and \u201cfresh, delicious and flavoursome mushrooms were the key to their success!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-85508\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/L.T.R.-Leroy-Mguni-2nd-place-Ross-Richardson-SAMFA-Chairperson-Johann-Neethling-Winner-Jerome-Sadiq-3rd-Place.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1150\" height=\"767\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The winner of this delicious Make Every Day Gourmet with the Magic of Mushrooms competition, was Johann Neethling from the Prue Leith Culinary Institute in Pretoria. Hot on his heels in 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place was Leroy Mguni (HTA\u00a0 School of Culinary Art), followed\u00a0 by Jerome Sadiq (Capsicum Culinary Studio) in 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place, Oratile Ramutloa (International Hotel School) in 4<sup>th<\/sup> place and Karabo Mahoko (Capsicum Culinary Studio) in 5<sup>th<\/sup> place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach finalist\u2019s recipe had a certain magic to it and all the judges were massively impressed with the quality of the entries,\u201d commented Senior SACA Competition Judge, Stuart McClarty. \u201cThe unique way in which each finalist added the magic of mushrooms to their\u00a0 favourite everyday recipe really illustrated the ability of every day versatile mushrooms to magically take an ordinary dish to a gourmet Michelin star creation!
