Although food delivery apps have offered some restaurNew<\/span><\/a>ants a lifeline during the lockdown, many are crippling the industry with hefty commissions charged.<\/p>\n

With already thin profit margins further diluted by app delivery fees, many restaurants have been forced to keep their doors shut and remain hopeful for a more sustainable solution to making ends meet.<\/p>\n

In a bid to help the struggling industry, liquor app-based on-demand delivery service QUENCH has expanded their scope to offer delivery services to restaurants, butcheries and bakeries\u00a0 with a minimal activation fee and only a 10% rebate charge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Head of Restaurants at QUENCH, Matthew McCreedy, says they want to relieve the pressure on restaurants by slashing their fees compared to most food delivery apps wh<\/strong>ich<\/strong> tend to charge hefty rebates of around 20% to 40%. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Traditionally app-generated commissions were more manageable when it represented a smaller segment of a restaurant\u2019s overall revenue. But the pandemic changed that and we can\u2019t sit by and watch as the hospitality industry dies a slow death.<\/p>\n

Our service will allow many restaurants, butcheries and bakeries to re-open their kitchens so that their staff can once again earn an income and their loyal customers can have a taste of their favourite\u00a0 cuisine in the comfort of their own home.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The contact-less deliveries are in line with the Government\u2019s safety guidelines and all QUENCH drivers have been thoroughly trained and are equipped with masks and gloves.<\/p>\n

The expansion into restaurants, which will go live towards the end of May, is yet another innovative addition to the QUENCH portfolio which includes same-day grocery deliveries from Woolworths across major centres in South Africa to great success.<\/p>\n
