{"id":1571,"date":"2015-02-15T17:37:22","date_gmt":"2015-02-15T17:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/durban\/?p=1571"},"modified":"2015-03-03T21:03:27","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T21:03:27","slug":"consol-craft-beer-revolution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/durban\/consol-craft-beer-revolution\/","title":{"rendered":"CONSOL Craft Beer Revolution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Consol Craft Revolution Beer Festival heads to Durban for the first time this year.\u00a0 Suncoast plays host to the inaugural Craft beer-tasting extravaganza which takes place for one day only\u2026 on 7 March 2015 from 12:00 to 18:00.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The festival will feature a selection of South Africa\u2019s top Craft Breweries, drawing \u201cbeer-ginners\u201d and craft beer connoisseurs alike, as well as one artisan boutique winery for the non-beer drinkers.\u00a0 Also on offer, to pair with your Craft Beer or wine of choice, is a selection of lip-smacking gourmet street food from some of Durban\u2019s most well-known eateries including Unity Brasserie &amp; Bar, Renegade Kitchen, Maddison Bakery &amp; Caf\u00e9 Vigour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sharing their golden nectar with the Durban public in 2015 are Shongweni Brewery, Bassett Brewery, TwoOkes Brewery, The Standeavon Brewery, Craft Republic (featuring Darling Brew, Soweto Gold, Dragon Brewing Company and Irish Gold), and That Brewing Co.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to providing the finest craft beers and gourmet street food, The Consol Craft Revolution boasts an exciting line-up of foot-tapping live bands including; the Gus Brown Band, The Kickstands, John Ellis and Callie &amp; Barry Thomson, who will entertain throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All food and drink purchased on site will be done using the festival currency called \u201cCastros\u201d. Each Castro is worth R5 and can be purchased at the event in denominations of R100 booklets.
