From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive and happy to help, making the dinner feel very much unhurried. Good service can make a big difference to a meal, and the team at John Dory\u2019s certainly made sure we felt at home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Seafood Platter for 1 \u2013 R129.90<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Seafood Platter was a generous combination of all the classic seafood favourites, with crispy battered fish, prawns and mussels, served alongside savoury rice and a creamy dipping sauce. The fish had a deliciously crisp, golden coating while remaining tender and flaky inside, and while the prawns were on the small side they had plenty of flavour. The mussels brought another layer of richness to the plate, making this platter a particularly satisfying option for seafood lovers. At R129.90, it was excellent value for the amount and variety packed onto the plate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-132027\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/02-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1430\" height=\"925\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ribs &amp;Prawns Combo \u2013 R149.90<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>For those who like a little surf &amp; turf, the Ribs &amp; Prawns Combo delivered a tasty mix of smoky, saucy ribs and succulent prawns. The ribs had a rich, sticky coating with plenty of savoury flavour, while the prawns provided a sweeter, lighter contrast. Served with chips and onion rings, it was a hearty plate that felt like a lot of food for R149.90.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-132025\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">12pc Sushi Platter \u2013 R129.90<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The 12-piece Sushi Platter brought some freshness and variety to the table. The sushi was colourful and satisfying. The different textures made each bite enjoyable, from the soft rice and avocado to the fleshy crab. At R129.90 for 12 pieces, it offered another a great-value option for anyone looking for something lighter while still getting plenty to eat.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-132024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Everything we enjoyed was tasty and satisfying, and us being surprised how much food the special offers for the price.\u00a0Between the seafood platter, ribs and prawns, and sushi, there was more than enough on the table to turn an ordinary weekend meal into a proper feast. We didn&#8217;t stick to our own platter, but rather shared it among everyone turning our dinner into a seafood sharing experience.<\/p>\n<p>For anyone looking for an affordable way to end their day with a satisfying meal or having a quick &amp; tasty lunch, John Dory\u2019s is well worth a visit. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the prices make it easy to enjoy a proper meal without watching the bill climb too quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes a great weekend doesn&#8217;t need an elaborate plan. Sometimes it just needs good seafood, plenty of food on the table and a special that leaves everyone feeling like they got their money&#8217;s worth.
