Limited in their access to spirits, bartenders often turned to ANGOSTURA\u00ae bitters to add a dash of complexity to the flavour palate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the mid-20<sup>th<\/sup> century, when cocktail parties became increasingly popular, hosts and hostesses resorted to batch cocktails as a way to spend more time with their guests. This era introduced pre-mixed cocktail recipes and the use of the pitcher for serving.<\/p>\n<p>The late 20th century saw a resurgence of batched cocktails. The cocktail culture embraced convenience without sacrificing quality. Mixologists and home enthusiasts began experimenting with pre-batching to achieve consistency and efficiency in serving drinks, especially at events and busy bars.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Today, batch cocktails remain as a fun, and efficient way to serve delicious drinks, and ANGOSTURA\u00ae bitters a pivotable player in adding depth and complexity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-113342\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/snippet-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1150\" height=\"713\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Give these recipes a quick mix the next time you host a party, or just have people over:<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Raspberry Tequila Sangria<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>(6 <em>serves)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>300ml raspberries<\/li>\n<li>1 bottle white wine<\/li>\n<li>250ml tequila<\/li>\n<li>125ml triple sec<\/li>\n<li>62ml fresh lime juice<\/li>\n<li>62ml granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>360ml ginger beer<\/li>\n<li>16 dashes ANGOSTURA\u00ae bitters<\/li>\n<li>1 lime cut into wedges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Place raspberries in a small bowl and mash with a wooden spoon or muddler. Add the white wine, tequila, triple sec, lime juice and bitters to a large glass pitcher. Stir in the sugar and continue stirring until completely dissolved. Stir in the mashed raspberries. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Stir in the ginger beer and top off with ice just before serving. Strain into wine or margarita glasses. Finally, add a lime wedge to the rim of each glass.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Lazy Rock Shandy<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em>(4 serves)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>600ml soda water<\/li>\n<li>600ml lemonade<\/li>\n<li>10 \u2013 12 dashes ANGOSTURA\u00ae aromatic bitters<\/li>\n<li>Fresh berries and citrus fruit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>METHOD<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The night before, be sure to freeze your selection of berries and citrus slices in ice trays with water. On the day of your bash, just before your guests arrive, place the ice in your serving jug, and add the soda water and lemonade before topping with ANGOSTURA\u00ae aromatic bitters. Before pouring, give the jug a good stir with your swizzle stick.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Old Fashioned<\/span> <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>(4 serves)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500ml bourbon<\/li>\n<li>125ml brown sugar simple syrup<\/li>\n<li>12-16 dashes ANGOSTURA\u00ae aromatic bitters<\/li>\n<li>80ml water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mix everything together and use a funnel to pour into a clean bottle. Store in the fridge until needed.
