Western Cape Mixologists excel in Patrón Perfectionists Competition

The Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition is a unique challenge for mixologists and bartenders to demonstrate their skills, expertise, and unwavering commitment to creating the perfect Tequila cocktail.

The next stage of the Patron Perfectionists Cocktail Competition 2021 is underway with the announcement of the Top 10 bartender finalists, hailing from varied provinces in South Africa.

In a first for the competition, consumers were called upon to vote from a shortlist of 30 cocktails published online on Difford’s Guide, enabling the public to support and celebrate talented bartenders, at a time when there is a new-found appreciation for mixology.

This year’s Top 10 Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition finalists from the Western Cape are:

  1. Cassandra Eichhoff – Western Cape
  2. Roxanne Read – Western Cape
  3. Ryan Ontong – Western Cape

The Top 10 from varied South African provinces got the chance to list their unique cocktails on the Dicks Cocktail club website.

Consumers can purchase the boxes and interpret their own winning cocktails in the comfort of their homes.

  • Each Dicks Cocktail Kit comes with a limited shaker, cocktail set, ingredients and one bottle of Patron Silver and will be available for purchase until the finals take place, in the first week of October 2021. Place your order now!

This shortlist of 10 bartenders will go on to take part in a national final judged by a panel of esteemed judges including the likes of Maps Maponyane Maps, Clyde Ackerman – Thirst Bar Services, Pieter Socks – Kegtails (From Brand) and Yolanda Dlamini – Why Cook.

“I’m thrilled that we have our Top 10 finalists and look forward to seeing how our local bartenders interpret the taste and quality of Patrón, going into the final stage. The judges are looking for great innovation coupled with simple, accessible ingredients that our consumers can use in their own homes. We are looking forward to the last stretch and know that our SA finalists will make us proud” said Patron ambassador, Cameron Hawkins.

The national finals will be virtually broadcast globally, and the winner of each national final will be invited to fly to Mexico in January 2022 for a chance to meet their fellow Perfectionists and compete in the global final at Hacienda PATRÓN.

Now in its sixth year, the competition has expanded to thirty countries globally and continues to attract an increasing number of skilled mixologists whose creativity and flair knows no bounds.
