Shape your Love Story at Nederburg this Valentine’s Day

Let love bloom at Nederburg on Valentine’s Day, with a fabulously sassy dinner feast at The Red Table restaurant, located in the romantic manor house – an elegant, H-shaped gabled country gentleman’s home in the vernacular Cape Dutch style – with musical entertainment provided by the Bokamosho String Quartet, formed in 2017 by students of the South African College of Music at UCT.

Or spend a relaxing afternoon in the winery’s beautiful gardens, under the old shady trees, indulging in a scrumptious basket brimming with delicious picnic fare.

Valentine’s Day Dinner at Nederburg

Chef Lisa Cilliers’ sensuous dinner spread on the evening of Valentine’s Day, offered at R595 per person (excluding service charge), starts with a glass of Nederburg’s refreshingly crisp bubbly, Première Cuvée Brut, and confit duck in phyllo parcel with apricot jus (amuse-bouche), to whet your appetite.

The next course is a choice of calamari and chorizo salad, chick peas, pickled fennel bulb, cucumber ribbons and heirloom tomato salsa; or spiced cauliflower panna cotta with green chutney. This is followed by red wine and raspberry sorbet to cleanse your palate.

For the main course, select between AAA-grade rib eye steak served with chateau potatoes roasted in duck fat, long-stem broccoli, tomato-on-the-vine and brandy mushroom sauce; or sesame-crusted salmon fillet with beetroot carpaccio, asparagus, crushed edamame beans and a teriyaki dressing.

Valentine’s Day dinner at The Red Table will be served from 18:00 until late. Seating is limited. The restaurant will offer its a la carte menu, as well as gourmet picnics, for lunch from 12:00 to 16:00 on 14 February and all other days of Valentine’s Week with the exception of Monday, 11 February and Saturday, 16 February.
