‘Taste the Farm’ Dinner Evenings at Spier Wine Farm

Join Spier Wine Farm on Saturday, 29 July and Saturday, 26 August Spier to a first-hand experience of the farm-to-table philosophy at Eight Restaurant!

At this interactive food evening, you’ll get to taste the intrinsic goodness of food from Spier’s own pastures, with fresh produce from our vegetable gardens and Farmer Angus’s pasture reared beef, pork, free-range chicken and eggs.

Executive Chef Lorianne Heyns and Sommelier Welma Beukes will present five courses made exclusively with home grown produce, and paired with a selection of wines from Spier’s limited release Private Collection range. Learn about Farmer Angus’ dedicated approach to sustainable farming, how the ingredients are grown and reared sustainably to create particularly good culinary experiences.

The menu includes:

Ramen, Chicken bone broth, pork shoulder with hen’s egg and garden greens

Private Collection Sauvignon Blanc

Pork belly with pear, parsnip and velouté

Private Collection Chenin Blanc and Private Collection Chardonnay

Chicken, chili, ginger, wonton

Private Collection Shiraz / Cinsaut / Grenache

Vanilla salted beetroot, liquorice beef fillet on the bone, olive crumble

Private Collection Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Cabernet franc / Petit verdot and Malbec

Truffled chocolate fondant, roasted banana, crème brûlée

P.S.: The dinners start at 19h30 and cost R650 per person. This includes 5 courses paired with Spier wines.
