Southern Sun Waterfront Celebrates SA Brandy

Southern Sun Waterfront’s incorporation into the Urban Brandy Cocktail Route last year was met with tremendous support and enthusiasm from both guests and locals alike. Now, this landmark venue further embraces South Africa’s iconic spirit with the recent launch of their signature brandy cocktail, The Cape Strawberry Daiquiri.

Developed by celebrated mixologist, Kurt Schlechter, the Cape Strawberry Daiquiri delivers a modern twist on a firm cocktail favourite, and accompanied by a distinctive ‘local flavour’. Made with fresh strawberries and Collison’s White Gold Brandy, this cocktail is set to be a firm favourite for the summer season.

For those Urban Brandy Cocktail Route lovers who’ve grown accustomed to sipping their favourite summer drinks poolside, Southern Sun Waterfront will be muddling another seven mouthwatering brandy cocktails, including the rooibos infused BOS Peach Punch (constructed with KWV 10 YO brandy), the Fish Eagle Rio and the Viceroy Bojito.

Urban Brandy Cocktail Route has gained outstanding public support and momentum. Quintus Swart, F&B Manager Southern Sun Waterfront says, “Brandy cocktails have been a permanent fixture on our cocktail menu for some time now. These drinks have grown in popularity to the extent that we are now launching the enticing ‘all brandy- based’ cocktail menu, catering for all tastes and temptations – and also introducing a touch of quirkiness.”

“We aim to become the Cape Town cocktail institution with our daily cocktail happy hour from 5pm to 7pm at our pool deck,” he concludes.
