Rudera Wine Estate joins the Twelve Apostles Hotel

On Friday 28 August 2015, Leading Hotels of the World member The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa will see Rudera Wines join Azure restaurant for its monthly Food & Wine Pairing series to offer an exquisite culinary experience. Food and wine aficionados can look forward to a four-course dinner specially prepared by Executive Chef Christo Pretorius, matched with the finest Rudera vintages of Chenin Blanc, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and Noble Late Harvest, presented by Riana Hall.

Located in the Jonkershoek Valley in the heart of Stellenbosch, Rudera Wines is world-renowned for its Chenin Blanc and other premium award-winning wines. The winery’s philosophy has always been to create a range of handcrafted, individually made wines to complement a wide variety of food styles.

Wine & Dine Evening: On the menu

Fine dining restaurant Azure offers guests a unique seaside setting coupled with outstanding service and indulgent food and wine combinations, promising a special evening for food and wine enthusiasts alike.

On arrival, guests will be warmly welcomed with a glass of Rudera de Tradisie Chenin Blanc 2011 before sitting down to an Amuse Bouche of Cured Dusky Kob pâté with a melon vinaigrette. This will be followed by the first course of the evening – Mozambique Langoustine with malay spiced butternut, curried lentils, gremolata, cumin yogurt cheese and a gooseberry compote, served with the iconic Rudera Robusto Chenin Blanc 2011.

Chef Christo Pretorius will then prepare Joostenberg Duck – confit leg, soy glazed mushrooms and mushroom consommé with parsnip and truffle croutons, accompanied by the Rudera Platinum Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. Moving on to the main course, guests will tuck into Springbok Loin with crispy bacon, savoy cabbage, baked celeriac and pickled cranberries with smoked jus, to be enjoyed with the Rudera Syrah 2012.

To conclude the menu, the Rudera Noble Late Harvest 2007 will be matched perfectly with Chef Christo’s Dulcey Mousse – calamansi ice cream, calamansi gel, whipped hazelnut ganache and salted peanut sponge. Guests can further indulge in a selection of Petit Fours with their tea or coffee.
