Patiala Brew & Q – the new Gem of the Constantia Winelands

A new and unique dining concept.

Renowned restaurateurs Mr GP Singh and his wife Beena have just opened what is sure to become a drawing feature of the Constantia Winelands – Patiala Brew & Q, the first of its kind in South Africa.

What makes Patiala so unique?

First of all, as its name suggests, the site has its own microbrewery. The name refers to a city in Punjab – a city known for its beer and farm-to-table concept – where the owners are from. Q refers to barbeque – the restaurant has an impressive plancha cooking station in the middle of its open plan kitchen, which allows guests to watch their food being prepared. Food is prepared on an open flame powered by wood and charcoal. The result is food that is flavourful and diverse – get ready to globalise your palate!

The menu, which changes seasonally, boasts ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients, some even hand-picked by the owners themselves at 4am fruit and vegetable markets!

Mr and Mrs Singh joined forces with Swedish business partners, Louis and Brigitte Hedberg, to bring the beer and brewing side of the business alive. The resulting artisanal brews are a must and compliment the food to perfection.

It’s clear that the owners have poured their hearts and souls into the conception of this restaurant, from the clean design and décor, a space that is well-lit and plush, with rich dark wood and leather accents and an energetic atmosphere.
