NITIDA IS PAVING THE WAY FOR BLENDED WINES IN SOUTH AFRICA

On Friday, 08 November, the Platter’s South African Wine Guide awarded Nitida’s Coronata Integration 2012 with the highest honour of five stars for a second consecutive year.

Deemed a multifaceted fusion of fennel, fig, lime and shortbread by the 34 edition of the guide, the Coronata Integration 2012 is a unique combination of a crisp Sauvignon Blanc and a barrel fermented Semillon.

CORONATA INTEGRATION 2012

The wine combines the fresh character of typical well-made cool climate Sauvignon Blanc with the multi layered characteristics of Semillon, ensuring that this wine will drink as beautifully today as it will 5 years from now.

With a consistent focus on blending multiple varieties in their wines, Nitida Cellars has been recognised as a reputable wine farm, brand and producer in the South African wine industry time and time again. This is further highlighted by the accolades received for the current Nitida Calligraphy 2011, awarded a double gold at the 2013 Michelangelo International Wine Awards. This wine is an intricate blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and is described as having “irresistible curves in all the right places”.

Approaching the winemaking process in a very personal and traditional way, this family owned cellar has been serving its clients “handmade” wines for over 18 years. For more information on the Coronata Integration 2012, Calligraphy 2011 or Nitida Cellars, kindly visit www.nitida.co.za
