Mix a Monkey Shoulder Whiskey Cocktail this Father’s Day!

Why not whip up a whiskey cocktail with dad this Father’s Day?

Father’s Day is all about connecting with your dad, spending some time together and having fun. Making some whiskey cocktails is the perfect way to do just that.

Making cocktails at home can seem daunting, with all the equipment and speciality ingredients you see used at bars, there’s no wonder. However, Monkey Shoulder would like to put your mind at ease and show you how easy it is to mix a cocktail at home. A mixing bowl, measuring spoons and a blender can go a long way! Sugar syrups are also quite simple to make, by hand, stove or blender.

Try these easy cocktail recipes Monkey Shoulder have put together, for a whiskey cocktail that’s impressive, delicious and deceptively easy.

A play on a Whiskey Sour, the Monkey Mint Sour is made using 100ml Monkey Shoulder Whiskey, 50ml Fresh Lemon Juice and 50ml Mint Syrup. Make the Mint Syrup by blending 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar and 4 sprigs of mint; once the sugar has dissolved strain the mixture and store in the fridge. Simple.

Their Jungle Fever Cocktail is made with 1/2 cup of Monkey Shoulder, a cup of Elderflower Syrup 1/4 cup Lemon Juice, 1 cup Apple Juice and 4 Sprigs of Mint. Add all ingredients to a coffee plunger and plunge 5 times or so, to aerate and infuse the ingredients. Serve over ice and garnish with apple slices and mint! This recipe serves 2.

Spend Father’s Day doing something a bit different, get the family together and make a couple of cocktails before lunch or dinner. A fun way to spend time together, try something new and enjoy some Monkey Shoulder Whiskey Cocktails!
