League of Beers Christmas Ideas

Craft Beer is all the rage this year. Why not buy the League of Beers’ special mixed case this December? A set of 12 craft beers that have been hand-picked to complement each other and will introduce “the man who has it all” to new tastes from micro-breweries around South Africa and the rest of the world.

What to buy for the man who has it all?

For the Animal Lover: Darling’s Silverback. Inspired by the honey badger, an animal with cunning intelligence and of substantial importance to many a farmer. It is the first dark Wit beer around and is made in the Belgian style but with roasted malts.

For the Extrovert: The English Ale from Copper Lake. It has a mellow bitterness with subtle sweet granadilla like aromas and decent but drinkable body, with light carbonation.

For the Beach Lover: Robsons West Coast Ale. Brewed like a steam beer which is an Ale- Lager hybrid developed for the hot California climate. It is a session beer with a bit of crafted creativity and difference; it is one of your best craft styles for the sun.

For the Seafood Lover: Yellow Eyes from Damn Wolf. This Durban beer is along the lines of a Belgium blond ale, with a fairly high gravity and thus has high body and high alcohol. Pair this with fish dishes as it can match the body while not dominating the flavour and will combine well with lemon and or garlic.

For the Introvert: Valley’s Belgian Brown. This could be considered in the class of an amber ale as the malts are far more biscuit than roasted. It is a rare variety and it would even go well with mildly spicy food to spice up his life a bit.
