Keenwa

Keenwa opened its doors in December 2010 in the Cape Town City Centre. The location is very exciting because the whole area is becoming more vibrant and more of a destination. The building itself is a gorgeous double storey Victorian. In a few months it has come a long way from a motorbike accessory shop to what it is today, but this is just the start. At the moment the restaurant is already open on the ground floor and in a short while the Pisco Bar will be opening upstairs.

Peru, whilst famed for meals like Ceviche, actually has a huge variety of culinary delights because of the numerous microclimates and differents cultures involved in Peru since its discovery (even more than South Africa).

One of the most infamous Peruvian dishes, battered guinea pig, is not on the menu. A lesser known fact is that potatoes come from Peru, with the country boasting nearly 3000 types of potatoes registered, and also about 275 different types of corn.

Peru is also known for Pisco, the national liquor made from grapes. Pisco Sours are an absolutely yummy treat but be warned, don’t have too many.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 4:00pm and Tuesday to Saturday from 6:30pm to late.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
