Join Maropeng’s resident astronomer, Vincent Nettmann, for an informative dinner talk, illustrated with spectacular astrophotography images. How did the universe begin? What do stars have to do with our own origins on here on planet Earth? And what will our final fate be?
Next Events: 25 January | 22 February | 21 March 2020
A laser-guided tour of the southern skies will follow dinner if the weather allows. Be sure to make use of our large aperture telescope, also depending on the weather.
18h00: Arrive for welcome drinks in the hotel reception nave
18h30: Enjoy a stargazing presentation
19h30: Dinner at the Hotel restaurant. Stargazing through our telescopes will take place after dinner
What to bring
If you have your own binoculars you are welcome to bring them along. Bring a warm jacket as the evenings can be chilly.
If it is raining or overcast the talk and dinner will still take place but not the stargazing through the telescopes.
The cost for this special evening, including the stargazing presentation and buffet dinner, is R435 per person. Special rates for children apply.
