Choo Choo Junction

At Choo Choo Junction we cavort with different tastes flavours to bring you new and exciting dishes from all over the world. Some we picked up on our travels, other we dream of. It’s about us sharing our love for food.

Come with a curious spirit ready to experience what our steampunk inspired version of a neighbourhood eatery is all about.

Choo Choo exists as a union of all that one loves about your favourite watering hole: ease, warmth and simplicity with a focus on the reason one loves to eat. We aim to be the neighbourhood gathering place for family and friends.

We strive to consistently provide our customers with impeccable service by demonstrating warmth, graciousness and passion. We hope everyone leaves feeling relaxed and nourished.

Choo Choo Junction is a gathering place for family, friends and friends-to-be where everyone is welcome to spend some time with us. The focus however is definitely on custom comfort and bringing seriously good food to the people

We have nostalgic cocktails with a twist, craft ales and wine selection to entice your taste buds and play with your food. We hope we can take you back to those time of yesteryear when merrymaking was more than just a drink, more than just a taste, make this your proverbial playground for the novice and the expert alike.

We have a steampunk, Victorian feel to our place with a lot of conversation pieces.  Our larger than live map of the world certainly gets everyone talking about they’re travels and experiences as well as our froggy man that has been built using an old factories filter as a head.

Everything is prepared fresh daily.  We pride ourselves on bringing new flavours and tastes to people.  Our menu is seasonal to ensure we only serve the freshest and locally harvested ingredients.  We have taken some old favourites and given them new twists.  One example would be our flatbreads – we first blind bake the bases to ensure crispness, then add our unique toppings and finish it off with our home-made dressings like our Asian inspired Peanut dressing. We like the playfulness of food and have created an Indian Naanwich which takes all the fresh, spicy flavours of a good Indian tikka wrapped in a Naan Bread and great union. We cook some classic dishes such as Mozambique styled prawns in a beer sauce, that must be paired with 2M, a classic that will take you to the beaches of Moz.

We have some firm favourites such as the Asian Pork Belly done in Mango and Star Anise and slowly braised in the wood fire, add to that is the Nasi Goreng which is a recipe we picked up in a little Indonesian café in Bangkok.

The burger everyone favourite is changed up and served as a French affair with melted brie, caramelised onions, balsamic reduction and rocket, or maybe paella on a burger is something you would want to try.

We aspire to make your time with us fun and build a connexion – where everyone is welcome to dream and steam away to new tastes destination.
