Grande Provence on Valentine’s Day

Are you still looking for something to do on 14 Feb? Well, maybe you should head off to Grande Provence on Valentine’s Day.

Choose between a lunch or dinner fine dining experience in the heart of Franschhoek, created by Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst, with perfect wine pairings by Sommelier Khuselo Mputa.

It all begins with a glass of bubbly and oysters. Then either smoked pork belly with brandade veloute, pork cheeks, quinoa and toasted pumpkin seeds… Or you could go for cured Franschhoek trout tartar with an avocado emulsion, yuzu caviar, ocean glass, an iced baby radish salad and a citrus wasabi pipette.

For mains, your choice is between slow braised Karoo lamb pastille accompanied by Turkish apricot jam, pickled summer root vegetables and tantalising truffled cauliflower… Or white sea bass with a Cajun spiced soft shell crab, ocean and land asparagus and smoked caraway butter.

For dessert, maybe have a Valrhona and hazelnut fondant with champagne macerated strawberries, white chocolate frozen air and chocolate pops… Or indulge in an infatuating Fromage alongside French and Swiss cheeses and a decadently deconstructed waldorf salad.

This delicious Valentine’s day lunch costs R450 per person, and the dinner is R595 with added accompaniments to make your evening extra special.
