Glencairn’s Deep South Eatery launches Sushi-Making Classes

Glencairn’s popular family restaurant, the Deep South Eatery, has launched sushi-making classes for small groups of up to four people.

The restaurant has gained a reputation for its delicious, freshly made signature sushi that includes The South Reloaded and Classic Rock Shrimp Maki.

Sushi enthusiasts may join scheduled classes on Thursday afternoons at 5pm, but families or groups of friends may also book a private session on a day and time of their choice.

  • The fun, interactive sessions include all ingredients and materials at a cost of R290 per person for making eight pieces of sushi, which can be eaten afterwards in the restaurant or taken home. The price also includes a complimentary glass of house white wine or non-alcoholic beverage.

The Deep South Eatery is geared towards locals and families, with comfortable outdoor and indoor dining areas, and lawns with jungle gyms and safe play areas for children. Diners may ‘eat around the world’, with other options including Italian wood-fired pizzas and build-your own pizzas for children, as well as Hickory Shack grills, tacos, fish & chips, burgers and Caesar salad, and vegan options.

The Deep South Eatery is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesdays to Sundays (closed on Mondays), with breakfast served on Saturdays and Sundays.
