Franschhoek Cellar will be celebrating one of South Africa’s favourite food and wine combinations, biltong and Pinotage, at the upcoming #Pinobiltongfest on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April.
This year’s event takes place at Perdeberg Winery near Paarl and 18 wineries will offer their Pinotage wines for tasting and sale, paired with a complementary biltong variant.
Franschhoek Cellar will be showcasing the Stone Bridge Pinotage, a classic example of this indigenous variety with juicy red fruit and velvety tannins. Also on show will be the vibrant Pinno Rosé – a lighter, playful version of Pinotage brimming with strawberry and candyfloss notes. Both wines pair superbly with the salty umami and spicy flavours of biltong.
