Update: The restaurant has closed its doors in June 2020.
It’s about to get wild.
The Vineyard Hotel prides itself in bringing guests back to wholeness with the incorporation of nature and stillness in their venue. Open your luxury room’s doors to invite the glow of the sun into your private garden, stroll through their rolling grounds or gaze upon the flowers while dining at Myoga Restaurant.
In keeping with their untouched approach, Myoga is hosting a fascinating 6-coure tasting menu which they call ‘Wild Food from Land and Sea’; and it has a story behind it.
Join them on 23 August to experience local creations such as Leonista Karoo Agave, Jack Parow Brandy, Musgrave Crafted Gin and Elephant Gin.
Chilled oyster, cucumber and fennel starters will highlight Elephant Gin’s rare African botanical flavours such as buchu, lion’s tail (wild dagga), devil’s claw (Harpagophytum and African wormwood.
Musgrave Gin will be paired with juniper-grilled prawn, yuzu mayonnaise, green mango atchar and a soft Malay roti to highlight it’s cardamom notes, ginger and Aframomum melegueta seeds, a spice with a peppery, citrus and coriander flavour.
Expect a surprise halfway with Crystal Skull Vodka and crispy Abalobi fish, sushi rice, edamame and blood orange teriyaki. This vodka is four-times distilled and seven-times filtered –through Herkimer quartz crystals that have mythical healing properties!
Parow Brandy heads up the fourth course – it’s a brandy with ‘skop’, proudly created by local rap legend Jack Parow. It will be served with rib-eye steak, cola-braised beef rib, porcini, dandelion greens and a brandy and cola pepper jus. Have your brandy and eat it too!
To end off the perfect meal, Leonista Honey Reposado accompanies beeswax-cooked pear, clotted cream, burnt honey, lemon thyme and rose in a Karoo agave spirit. It’s sure to revive you with it’s energy giving properties.
The cost of this experience is R550 per person, including wine. Book your table today!
